Water Challenge: Benefit 2: I can Bleach my Hair and it Won't Hate Me!
This Challenge has been doing a lot for me and I reckon I'll be having water way more often when it's over! 😄😄😄 I feel not only healthier but also happier! 😁😁😁 So, this brings me to benefit 2, which is the strengthening of my hair. My hair is naturally dry and the colouring I do to it does not help. 😐 However, my hair has been in the best condition it's been in a long time! 😎 This is because as I absorb the water my hair follicles do too 🤗 Yay! Having dry hair is annoying, however, what I find worse than that is watching people on YouTube completely destroy their hair when they bleach it.... 🤤🤤🤤 So you don't end up with the same fate as those poor people, here is how I bleach my dry hair without damaging it further.☺
So this is my awful regrowth and no I did not buy boxed bleach... That is hair abuse..
Instead I got a pot of bleach powder and some developer and mixed it up myself. Just check what volume developer ypu need for your hair. My regrowth is a rich brown so I used a 20 volume so I could leave it in for longer without frying it.
Next, I measured out my powder by packing into the little scoop, similar to how you measure out a cakes dry ingedence. Because my hair is thick I doubled the measurement and used four scoops of powder so I wouldn't have to mix up more.
With the developer I used the cap to measure it out and mixed it inbetween each shot I added so it would look like this...
It should be thick and creamy but not runny. I then flipped my hair over and started at the back, at my neck. I sectioned my hair as I went over that dark colour.
I didn't just lather it on, I brushed it on lightly so I could watch the colour change so I wouldn't have to touch it when I went to check how my hair was taking the chemicals.
When I tied my hair up I looked like a guy with pastel blue hair. 🤣
I then wrapped it up in a towel to lock in the heat and waited for about 30 minutes, before washing it out with purple toning shampoo.
This is what it looked like after the bleach.
Now, it's time for the fun part. 🤗🤗🤗 Yay!
What a look. 🤣🤣🤣
I worked the toner into my roots and then got conditioner and starting at the ends of my hair I lathered it on and worked it up towards the roots, since the ends need more of the nourishment than the rest of my hair. I then waited another 30 minutes and rinsed it out.
And this is the amount of hair loss. For someone with damaged hair this is a really small amount of hair to lose after bleaching.
This is the end result. Trust me, the extra money is not that much more and it is worth the extra effort.
Good luck to you all and I wish you all a happy hair journey. 😀
